This is getting very worrying. People have been urged not to travel to the United States or Mexico as senior officials held emergency talks over the deadly outbreak of swine flu. The European Union's health commissioner, Andorra Vassiliou, advised people to postpone their travel plans unless "it is very urgent for them". His warning came as Spain became the first country in Europe to confirm a case of the virus after a man who returned from a trip to Mexico last week was found to have the virus. The unnamed man returned to Spain on April 22 and was put under observation on April 25 with chest problems, Health Minister Trinidad Jimenez said. This will not help the economical climate which we are currently in.

You should have been at my house for the last couple of days. I live directly across the street from a Lutheran church that also has a private elementary school. A seven year old student tested positive for Swine Flu. The CDC (CDC = Center for Disease Control ) Called the school and told them to close the school immediately. They called parents to come pick up their kids. The media found out, thanks to CDC reports that are public. It was a media circus around here all day and into the night. TV news crews all up and down the street filming parents picking up their kids and interviewing anyone that would talk to them. I spent a lot of time outside watching the hullabaloo, gib gabbing to different members of news crews, and I and took some photos. The reporters were told to stay off the property so I went on the property and asked parents if they wouldn't mind talking to the news. One of the reporters asked if he could have copies, so I burned a disk for him... after putting my copyright in the files, and adding a copyright notice stating written permission must be obtained. Even today I saw 7 different station's news vans show up at different times of the day to do follow-up reports.
