 Hi Folks,sorry about the fairly recent non appearance,i guess at Ole Simmo's Simmo's age one has got to expect a few hiccups with this "health" thingy,had to give the busking & oldies gigs a bit of a break for a few weeks but the good news is i will be out there again with 3 Oldies gigs booked for this week but i will let the busking sit for a while until i feel ready for it.I must apologise if i have missed any members birthday's etc,had a look at the current posts just to get up to speed & one was of interest to me by Tommydee,( G'day Tommy & a belated welcome to you) & that was the one in which he mentioned members meeting other members who hail from different parts of the globe, actually meeting up with other members,this happened to myself & my good lady Patricia around 3 years ago while we were having a once in a lifetime trip to the UK,having let the forum know in advance of our timetable we arrived in the UK with several contact details from some of the forum members who had indicated that they would like to make contact with us during our visit.We were thrilled to be able to catchup with three members,namely...John G..Graham (Rainbow) & Geoff (Allegro),we did get over to Ireland but unfortunately were not able arrange a meet-up with any of our Irish compatriates due to time & distance but i must thank several of them (Shanless,Weegeo etc) for the kind offers.I must admit we will cherish the time we spent with our forum friends because it was a once in a lifetime experience,i can vividly remember Patricia & myself waiting in the rain in Wells Somerset under the Arch that leads to the famous Bishops Palace keeping a lookout for this John G character & wife whom we had prearranged to meet at a given time ( John & his good lady had been visiting England at that time also),i had a photo of John which he had sent to us prior to our leaving W Australia,within minutes they both appeared & after finding a local Pub we sat & chatted over a meal (we all had so much in common) which is a wonderful memory that we will keep forever.No. 2 meeting was with our fellow member Graham (rainbow) & family who went out of there way to make us welcome,so welcome in fact we booked into our b & b for an extra 2 nights,the could not do enough for us & once again we had so much in common it was another highlight of our holiday which we will never forget.No.3 get together was with our fellow member Geoff (Allegro) & family which also was such a thrill for us,the home cooked roast was one of the highlights of our holiday & once again you could not wish to meet a nicer family,they also made us feel so special,so all in all for Patricia & myself it was the icing on the cake having met up with these very special forum members.
