I'd like to second that. John would probably say he is still learning, but has an amazing knowledge of all things MIDI. I remember Barry as a mod at Fresh Midis, he did an excellent job as he was left "holding the baby" by the mysterious "Dave" (the owner). I'm sure Barry will do an equally good job here, given the better infrastructure of the "Hangout"

I echo those sentiments about John, Ive also learned a lot over the years from him with his vast knowledge of music not just midi and his overall input . The Tutorials alone must have taken him ages to sort out as well as all his other commitments .

So glad he's still gonna be around to help out as Im sure we'll be knocking on his door very soon......(not literally John) ;D

I too echo the sentiments expressed on this very worthy thread regarding John G and Barry.

John has been (and continues to be) a great member and supporter of the forum and I am honoured to be considered among his friends this past number of years. When John wrote and told me of his reason for stepping down as a mod I was naturally surprised, but knowing John doesn’t do anything without giving it the consideration it deserves I reluctantly accepted his decision.

I have known Barry longer than I have known anyone on this forum; he and I go back to when I was a mod in the early days of Fresh Midis, back to when I was known as “St Ives”. I loved my time there, but certain complicated moments and unfortunate incidents, which are better off forgotten made me realise I needed to look elsewhere. Having said that Fresh Midis had some of the most wonderful members I ever met but were alas let down.

Anyway, Barry has been a terrific member of this forum and will be a great member of the mod team.

Many a time I have taken the opportunity to thanked John for his relentless effort on this forum and I don't mid saying it again...thank you so much again John for giving you time and experience to this forum.
