I dont know how many I have probably 15 CDs and 5 flash drives full.I started swapping CDs with folks from all over the place.I would guess at well over 40,000. I mainly have 50s-70s and have about 500 in my play list. I have thousands that are listed as catalogue numbers and have to refer to a list untill renamed. I have many German,Italian,French and Danish ones that I am going thru to see if I recognise the tunes.

Like you I probably have thousands. Every so often I notice the hard drive is getting full on my old laptop so I zip them up into collections and write away a CD full, then clean out the HDD.
The ones I use are most often the ones I've completely or partially sequenced myself, for my wife, and that just amounts to a few dozen. I'm re-doing most of them using Garritan Personal Orchestra (GPO) to replace the originals done using the Yamaha MU1000. Quite a difference. They're redone to audio tracks then written to CD for playback via my Denon DN-C615 acquired via eBay.

I too have thousands. I am still trying to catalogue them all, and am willing to send my excel spreadsheet to anyone who wants it.

I get very excited when I see and hear them and I , like a silly fool think I can simg the whole lot. The excitrment of seeing so many get to me. . . till I realize I will do just a few. Hello all,
I would say I have about 60 gigs worth on the hard drive(and backed up every month or two) Crashes suck!
Of all those,I would say 40% have been seriously tinkered with, changing ends, beginnings, and made into medleys when they wasn't one to begin with.
My friends in the music biz around here locally call me "Frankenmidi" because more often than not,I will get three four or even five versions of the same song, and through cakewalk, cut and chop all my favorite tracks and portions of tracks from this midi and that midi,to come up with one that sounds the best to my old ears. Sometimes you have a midi that just don't cut it on a certain instrument, but another one that will. It's extremely time consuming, but I've learned as long as I label my tracks and takes on each separate track,I know exactly where I am,and what part I am dealing with.If I don't have the harmonies in there,or they are too "choppy",I will reprogram them through my Fantom keyboard with the harmonizer.
I regularly use stuff from the 70's and 80's on my gigs, since that is what I bill myself as performing "variety music from the 70's and 80's",having about 200 or so songs to choose from.
Take Care...
Mike
