Downloaded a few midi files from the Yamaha midi site last night (see link below)for the first time and was quite impressed with the quality and they have a fantastic variety of songs to choose from . I'd be interested to hear from any other Yamaha users here that use this site or views or opinions on the website in general. What bugs me about these midi sites is that its the same old same old.... for example.... Under Bachman Turner Overdrive they show " you ain't seen nothing yet " great song for sure. but....i bet the next one will be taking care of business and then hey you ffolled by let it ride.... every site is the same... i bought these songs from roland 20 years ago....BTO has a song called roll on down the highway which actually charted higher than hey you.... lets see that midi file. If anyone has bought any files from yamaha i would love to see how different they are from other sites. is their ain't seen nothing yet that much better or different? just my rant for the day.

Ya I guess your right on that score but I suppose at the end of the day its whats popular sells .....I just find the quality of these files played through my PSRS700 far superior to any of the other sites......I supp it could also be a compatability issue as they would prob sound crap through a Roland setup I dunno.. ;D Regards Barry |

Check the exclusive messages and the address maps for the instrumenta eg cc# 000 and 32 and any others in your yamaha files.
Paste or copy into a file of another brand [after deleting sys ex and gm reset and instrument] see if there is a difference then.
Make sure its the same instruments and track numbers first.
