Pat brought this subject up and I must tell you guys about the time I went to hospital to remove my gall bladder.! It was an unusually painful siuation and they cut me about 8 inches on my stomach and really opened me up !! After the operation the doctor smiles and tells me " Your liver is in good shappe, however, dont drink if you can help it " I DONT DRINK , SO WHAT WAS ALL THAT ABOUT !!!!!!!!! ??. Most people think musicians live on drinks, drugs and women !! C R A Z Y !!!!!! I have absolutely nothing against musician friends who drink - actually they are lovely fun guys and they make a gig so happy and cheerful ! I have had lots to do with guys who smoke pot and they were very nice too, very creative and focused ! Yes, there are a set of chaps who really overshoot their limits, act nasty and misbehave, but my band guys were really sweet and I never had any trouble with them. As a rule no one should have any alcohol before the programme. I guess they respected me enough to obey. "Satan's Urine" ?? Thats an unkind description of a good spirit !

Ahh a topic we can all relate to lol lol i must say that i enjoyed my alcohol when i was playing and sometimes[well a lot actually there are people in the forum know me lol] i did go over the top although this was more in my `drumming`days when i went on to keyboards it got less and when i ended up out front i had to almost stop drinking altogether i have related a few funny stories before about things that happened when on stage but incase you missed them lol.
We were doing a gig in Belfast in a well known working mans club the entrance to the stage was right behind my stool and i would regulary use the door to lean against when playing. One night whilst leaning against it quite drunk someone opened the door and i fell right out still going thru the act of drumming lol ahh the good old days maybe i should right that book lol
Devils Urine must say i hadn`t heard that 1 before!!! were i come from it`s referred to as `the devils buttermilk`a phrase coined by a religious leader over here lol
weegeo------------- very large devils buttermilk in hand contemplating the book lol

Alcahol!HMM! I"m pretty boring. I used to drive the equipment and band members so never partook. On occassions after the gig I would have a half pint to be social with the owners of the club or pub. When I got home it was a different story.I loved to unwind with a scotch or two.
Regards
Mark

Well...i like a drink or two...and in moderation it can be actually good for you...a glass of whiskey or red wine helps the blood run smoothly!! But enough of that rubbish......lol.. ;D...im not a home drinker but i always have a couple of brandys and a pint or two gigging....and when im not i really let my hair down!! Of course..binge drinking is bad for you, but then again so is almost everything according to the muppets who work at the government health agencies!! ;D Funny how all the hellraiser musicians over the years are remembered more fondly than the cup of tea cliff richard brigade.. Tubbs...in the corner doing his bloody best to surgically remove weegeo and tinys wallets from their a*se pockets to get the drinks in.. ;D

Hah! Good man Shyam! Great topic, and even though I do not drink myself I do like to see people have a good time and enjoy a few pints....if everyone was like me there'd be no pubs to gig in
