I hope someone can help.
I am looking for a power supply/AC/DC adaptor for my Alesis S-R 18 Drum machine. It needs to be a 12v 600mA. 7.2
I have been looking on the Internet but so far no luck. If anyone knows a website that sells them I'd like to know of it.
Thanks

Thanks for this info. I wasn't aware that I could go above 600 ma. Barry, I have used Thomann before and find them to be the finest. Anyway, I found a second-hand one by searching for the Model number. It seems Alsesis does not provide their own 12v power supply with new SR-18s, and sure enough the one that originally came with my SR-18 isn't made by them. Anyway, I found the exact model that did come with my drum machine on E-Bay However; I cannot see a "Buy it now" option so assume it is no longer for sale. I will contact the seller for more. And here are a couple of photos I just took of my own, damaged one. As you can see (in the second one) the wiring is damaged, which is the reason I am looking for a replacement.

Looking at the pics it seems an easy fix, unscrew, cut away moulded section, reterminate and solder.Build up with tape where the moulded section was. If you go above 600 ma is better and the transformer doesn't get too hot.

Thanks Frankie, you make it sound so simple I might have a go myself So, if I get something above 600 ma it will even work better? What about the other numbers, such as 7.2va, do they matter?

As long as its 230volts ,12v,probably 1 amp it wont get so hot. Dont forget to put the markings on the wires on the same terminals. If you can slide the collar off and re-use it instead of taping would be good[cut off and soak in hot water may help]
