Hi all, I have had my new Acer desktop now for about one year and the more I use it the less I like windows 7 everytime I try to use something on it it cause's me problems unlike XP on my laptop. So my question is this, can I load XP onto this new computer and get rid of windows 7 once and for all. Can I do this without losing the speed that I have and would it stop me from using the firewire that I have on my Acer for downloading AVI files. And can anyone pinpoint any problems that I would encounter IE would the computer still be as effecient without windows 7. The acer is an Aspire X5900 Intel Core i3 2.93GHz With 1TB nVidia GT310 With 4GB Ram

Hi shezza Not a pc expert by any means but i can foresee you having more probs if you delete Win 7 and revert back to XP tried it once myself before as I was in the same position as you but with the help of other pc users I sorted all my probs out thankfully and wouldnt change for anything now . Yours is a fairly new pc loaded with all the latest software and up to date drivers for Win 7 if you revert back you might have probs trying to locate XP drivers for your specific desktop. Im sure whatever probs your having can be sorted with the help of more experienced pc users here or on the Acer Forums thats why these forums were set up to help people like yourself and others having difficulties . . Im sure reverting back is possible but Id give it serious thought if I were you you might end up being in a worse position altogether if you do . I'm sure you'll get some more advice from the more experienced guys here but as the guys say just my tuppenceworth............Good Luck Cheerz Barry

I'm pretty sure you can run 2 operating systems on the one computer, but it means partitioning your hard drive, that way you can boot up to either Windows 7 or XP.
