Hi John Got a small problem thats got me stumped. The xg instruments I choose to assign to my midi in c/w dont correspond on my kb . For example if I choose a solid guitar from my xg instrument list in c/w then when I hit the kb I might get a violin etc . I have psr s700 cakewalk def files loaded ok but its only started happening lately . Hope I expalined it ok if you need further clarification let me know Many Thanx Barry

Just as a first guess it sounds like a different set of instrument definition files has somehow been loaded by mistake. I suggest you take a look at my tutorial on setting these up and maybe redo what you did before to set them up in the first place.
Then I could look at the MIDI files if that doesn't work. I'll look in again tomorrow afternoon. Got to do some work for tomorrow now. G'night all! JohnG.

Hi John Well the only thing I done different this time was to load the def files for the S900 instead of the S700 but as far as Im aware they're both the same . This isn't any particular midi just happens to anything Im working with at the moment . Ill try and see if I get hold of the S700 file def in case that could be my prob I'll get back to you ok Cheerz Barry

Hi Barry,
Great, it's often something we do inadvertently thinking it shouldn't change anything, I've run out of fingers to count the number of times it's happened to me!
If you have a moment you perhaps could send me the two 'instrument' files and I'll take a look inside them.
Glad you've got it sorted. JohnG.
