Well it seems like everyone wants to talk about something, so I thought I see what your thoughts are on the Royal Wedding this Friday. Catherine seems like a lovely girl, and I'm sure will be good for the Royal Family, I think people are thinking of her as the new Diana, it's a lot to live up to. A nice boost to the country in a gloomy recession, and hopefully might bring a few tourists here, times have changed and I don't think it will have the same impact as previous Royal Weddings, let's just hope William becomes King, before his Dad. Congratulations to them both Jacqui

Hiya Jacqui, You have raised some good points here lol 1st let me say that my wedding invitation seems to have been lost in the mail[just as well really as i`m gigging in the local bowling club lol] I think the wedding will lift the gloom that wer`e in if only for a short time and i wish them both well 2nd Diana Princess of Wales she will never be she was very much a one off 3rd i think it`s unlikely Charles will be King for a whole list of reasons that i won`t go into here lol but a very good topic btw did you get your invite lol

nice topic Jacqui,Weegeo, the best comment I heard regarding the Royal Wedding was on the Stand up show last Friday when the comedian berated a report/article in a tabloid newspaper that said this wedding would be similar to the fairytale wedding of Charles and Diana. And I quote''excuse me !!!, Charles and Diana ,a fairytale wedding ?? I think not . I can't remember a fairytale where Cinderella gets her brakes cut on her pumpkin and Prince Charming ends up marrying the horse'' Bigmike

Well firstly let me say, I'm glad someone has shared a comment or two, considering everyone wanted to talk so much lately about the lack of activity and input on the forum . Anyway.... I know the Royals are not every ones cup of Tea, but we don't get many big special occasions to celebrate, apart from the football I think what's nice about this marriage is that they seems to have got the formula right, no big rush they have seen a bit of life, no arranged marriage, hopefully no third party, I'd say it's a popular wedding - A-because William is the Son of Diana who was so very liked, and second because Catherine is a Commoner, which I think has actually made the people like her all the more. Cool joke Bigmike ;D....... Well I did have an invite but the dog ate it Bad Doggy Jacqui

When the wedding was announced in the press last year I am afraid I was of the opinion that it would be another 7 year 'special', but as time has gone on I think that this one might just work. I now find myself in the position that I might just watch some of it on TV. My youngest children are quite facsinated with the whole pomp and circumstance of the event, and I dont think anything will keep my youngest away from the TV as she loves the fantasy princess thing even at the age of nearly 8.
Best wishes to the couple, its hard enough keeping a marriage going without the constant pressure of who you are and what you represent being thrust at you night and day.
Still cant understand why they didn't book me for the reception though, I even promised them no Birdy song. Did anyone see on the TV today that they are in fact related. They are 16th cousins.

I like William, there's a lot of his mother in him (and Harry), & he seems to have picked himself a lovely young lady to be his future queen. I hope the media give her a little more space than they did to Diana.
Err! Jacqui, when do we get to celebrate our football, lol?

ABSOLOTELY AMAZING and so very perfect to precision. If I didnt know this was Willianm and Catherine's wedding , I would have thought it was a MOVIE, but it would need plenty of retakes to arrive at that kind of perfection. S U P E R B !!!!!!! I have the whole ceremony, before and after, recorded and I dont think I'll ever be tired of watching it again and again and again !!!!!!! The Archbishop looked like Fagin from David Copperfields !! I must say you Brits really love living your fantasies !!! Gosh I was in Fairy land for 4 full hours Cheers to all of you and my Best'est' Wishes to the Royal Couple !

Hi All, I dont want to get into any poilitics here, but I really wish to know your take on why Tony Blair and a few others werent invited to the Royal Wedding. I always thought that occassions such as weddings should be used to open up hearts, a time to "make up", time to bury the past, a time to look ahead and not hold grudges, whatever the justifications that might have been , whenever. Wouldnt it have been becoming of a Prince and Princess to throw their arms open to them ? Your thoughts please !
