Hi again folks i was wondering there is a program out there that can change the tempo of a backing track when it is in either in mp3 or wav format, also is there any loss of quality in the track if it is altered by just a few Bpm ( beats per minute),the reason i am asking is that as i have said before in earlier posts i make my backing tracks up by editing the standard midifiles, key, tempo, instrument changes etc using my Sonar le program also picking up the goodie sounds from my Sonic Cell module,i then record it as a wav file, from there i run it through a program called Sonic Foundry Sound Forge in which i can trim the levels to my liking, from there i turn it into mp3 format using a program that John G put me on to called Razor Lame.It may all seem a little longwinded but it works for me.In relation to my query about the tempo change i realise that it should be done while in the midi editing stage & most of the time i get it pretty close to suit me but sometimes after i have played a newly edited song out for the first time it can sound a little different than playing it in my music room at home, the tempo may either need to go up or down a bit,i can go back to to the saved edited midi to make any changes but then i have to go through all of the other procedures to get it back into mp3 format which leads me to ask the original query. If i was working with these Pro-tools programs there is probably a facility to do this without loss of quality but i was wondering if there is something out there that i could purchase for using it just for this purpose...All input welcome.Ole Simmo's really getting technical Best Wishes Simmo...having a quiet moment between the Ramblings ...PS the Busking is still going strong..making heaps new friends...a lot of positive feedback as well
