Hi All, Just noted that Johnnie Preston who had a number 1 single in 1960 with 'Running Bear' passed away earlier this month. The song was written for him by the Big Bopper who died with Buddy Holly and Richie Valens in the 1959 plane crash. The indian voices on the single were those of the Big Bopper and Country star George Jones. It was due to be released at that time but was held back as a sign of respect to the singers who had lost their lives. Johnnie also had hits with 'Charming Billy' and 'Feel So Fine'. Farewell Johnnie and God bless.
Peter.

Thanks for that Peter, very sad. I love hearing these stories of how records came about and who was involved etc etc. Anyone else know stories like that? I'd love to hear them
Eddie
