Just heard from a friend in Cyprus that Jet Harris has died aged 71. He was, of course, bass guitarist for a while in the Drifters/Shadows and one of the first to play bass guitar in the UK. Another one joins the big gig in the sky. RIP Jet.

sad to hear of his death
one interesting fact I picked up from the tabloids coverage of his death was that Jimmy Page was a session guitarist on the hit ''Diamonds''

I met Tony Meehan once.Took a demo tape to him at Polydore.Needless to say he didn't rate it,so went busking in Andorra.

I was very shocked to hear about Jet!!,i used to see him here on the isle of wight quite regularly!!he has a farm here,and called the island his home.There was a forthcoming gig on the mainland,which was in the pipeline,alas another music great is gone!!!!!!
