Hi all
Today is my first day back on the forum for nearly a year - my last post was April 23 2008 according to my profile - I hadn't realised it was that long.
For the first time in my life I suffered musical burn out or overload or something like that and just couldn't face it any more and just went cold turkey way from music- no listening, no playing - no nothing.
It is only in the last month or so that I have been able to get back to listening to music again like I used to and hopefully I will start to play and record again soon.
Some of you may recall that I was making a nosalgia CD with Maureen (posted some tracks at the time) and after three years of hard work we finally finished it but I think that is what took the toll.
Anyway I have been shocked by the turn of events that has taken place while I have been away re Midimart but now I think back there were some inconsistencies in a few areas re what was being said about how the midi files were being sequenced and the variation in how they sounded which you wouldn't expect if one person was doing most of the sequencing - for example I can usually easily recognise midi files by Midi Fingers from SSP as they have a distinctive sound and style - anyway easy to be wise after the event
One thing I feel a bit guilty about is that some time ago I said I would compile a list of all the professional midi sites together with relevant information. I think Big Mow originally asked for something like that. Cat said at the the time that it was a lot of work and I would never do it but I did actually nearly complete it before I had my musical shutdown. However given the time thas elapsed and midi sites coming and going it will now need updating which I will do for my own information as much as anything but will be happy to publish when complete for anyone interested.
Anyway good to be back and seeing all the old names and I look forward to being a contributing member again.
regards
