I’d just like to tell everyone that my son Sean did his very first gigs with me last weekend and will be playing with me all next weekend too and all over the Christmas period. Although he's only 15 yrs [and 6 foot 1" in hight ] and only playing bass about a year he has already turned into a fine player and in time will make an exceptional one should he keep it up.

Thanks guys. He doing really well and I am indeed very proud. He sings also, but only knows four full songs at this stage. Mind you, he can play virtually anything on the bass and the girls at gigs seem to really like him. Good Lord, if they knew his real age ;d

Great news Pat i remember well when i brought my son Mervyn out to gigs with us he was 15 also i let him drum a 30minute set and he was amazing twice or three times the drummer his oul da was at that age but like you i was walking 10 feet high with pride and he kept the drums up until i stopped he stopped also i went to keyboards and he went to guitar he now writes his own stuff and is brilliant on guitar now as well. It`s great when the wean`s carry on in our footsteps. I hope the young man keeps it up plz pass my regards to him

Ha-ha, so true. Our kids seem to pick things up so much easier. Chances are Sean might remain gigging, but as he's doing really well in school academically he might eventually go on to other things when he’s older. Mind you, at the moment he absolutely loves the craic so it might get into his veins and he’ll stick with it... I hope he does as he has the making of a fine musician. I will of course pass on your regards to him

When my daughter came out with me she was about 12-13 and everyone loved her. In fact they wanted more from her than me at the time. She eventually stopped coming with me, went to University, and is now a Chartered Building Surveyor. Last year I was delighted to find that she has now once again started to sing again, cant wait to hear her.

For now I am simply going to enjoy having him around and in time he'll chose whichever path suits him. We were practising earlier and he was doing some Elvis songs. Quite an amazing voice he has. I know I am naturally bias but really the lad can sing Geraint, that was great to hear about your daughter joining you when she was so young, there is something special about having a son or daughter join you out gigging, isn't there
