Hi Warren good to hear from you.hope all is well up there in Queensland with all the family etc,we've just had another taste of summer with temps getting up to 40c last week but its settled back to a comfortable 33c W Aussie is in for a bumper bushfire season this summer owing to the amount of dry bush that is around ,we have also had some out of season rain today which was good for the garden. You are right about our sandy soils & to get any results in the garden we have to keep building them up with whatever it takes,we do recycle all of our household scraps, veggies waste & the like,if you remember we only revamped the backyard last year which gave us a chance to build up the white sandy base which as you know W Aussie is famous for ( hence the nickname "sandgropers") so it gave the roses, fruit trees, veggies etc a good start, the roses have only been in just over a year along with most of the other stuff,we do find that since moving down to Baldivis our garden is more managable than our last place up in Perth where owing to us running our business from home for many years where we were on a half acre block due to needing a bit more room to keep a truck plus various mowing machinery ( we were commercial mowing contractors for many years) i must admit i do sometimes miss our 60'x40' workshop which gave me the opportunity to accumulate no end of what was basically a load of old rubbish ,anyway mate i hope you are going ok,i keep meaning to give you a call to catch-up with everything, its gonna happen so keep well & a big hi to the family...Terry & Patricia

Call away Terry - whenever you get the urge (I think, from memory, that we're an hour or two ahead of WA here on the East coast). Warren
