SAVING GMAIL MESSAGES TO AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE

Hi Everyone
My dear brother used to forward very interesting mail and also forward many photographs to me on my gmail account.
I would love to save all his mail and attachments to my external hard drive. This way I will have all his precious mail and pics etc , to myself and I can free my gmail storage from this huge lot of mail.
Can someone tell me how I can do this ........ please !

Gosh Barry, I am rude, aint I ? I didnt see your reply till now !!!!!!! Sorry for not acknowledging and not thanking you. I checked the homestore one, but took it off as it didnt do what I wanted it to. I'll check the other links and hopefully come up with what I want..... store my brother's e-mails in my external hard drive.
