,Hi Folks, many thanks for all the wellwishers for our holiday,we are officially back after a great couple of weeks in Bali, Patricia & i plus our son No,2 & family had just the best time, the weather was a little warmer than home & also a bit more humidity, most days around 30c which we found pretty comfortable, the good thing was on our arrival back home yesterday we found our weather to be around the same but with no humidity.I have sent John G a few pics of our stay in Bali for him to forward to the forum (i still haven't quite worked that one out as yet),the road rules in Indonesia are in a class of their own,it is just one big free for all with literally thousands of motorbikes carrying up to 4 people at one time weaving both sides of the road amongst all of the cars, trucks buses etc,we saw the same thing on our visits to Thailand over the years but not in such big numbers, the funny thing is we felt quite comfortable being driven around in the local taxi's,everyone seems to know what the other drivers are about to do.We loved the food not only in the hotel we stayed at ( The Padma ) but also at the local eating places as well, the other thing was the amount of live entertainment which was available in most of the restaurants & bars,60's & 70's as well as a lot of country music seemed to be most popular with 75% of the duo's,trio's using quality sound systems using backing tracks,a lot of the performers sang in perfect english but had problems actually understanding what you were saying when you spoke to them.I was amazed at the excellent quality of the backing tracks especially the drums, they sounded so real,it made my efforts with midi editing sound very average,so any tips & advice on how i can improve my drums etc on my tracks will be appreciated,i think the reverb might improve my sounds but i'm not to sure on how much. Its 7.00 AM the sun is shining & its good to be home,2 gigs to do this week but i had a heap of bookings on message bank for 2011 so it appears Ole Simmo is still in business for a while yet,i haven't had a chance to check back on the prior posts, members stage etc but will do so in the next couple of days,so best wishes to all.......The Simmo's
