Hi, Levi, it appears that what I have is the Softsynth driver (which, as you said, won't work with Win7), I'll have to try to get the xg plugin to use with mixcraft, & maybe the hyper canvas plugin as well. The hyper canvas has some good sounds, but the xg drums, as you said, are better.

Just like to say a big thank you to everybody for their help. After a few glitches & a bout of "man flu", I think I'm sorted now, (although I may occasionally need a bit more guidance). I've always used a desktop pc, so buying a laptop was going over to the dark side for me, lol. Now to start experimenting.
