A little while back someone, I forget who, mentioned that they didn't have the help files associated with CWPA9. So here they are in a single zip file for CWPA9 version 9.03. Size 1.3 MB. www.4shared.com/file/96718148/a3c1ba82/CWPA9help.htmlUnzip them into the main Cakewalk directory alongside cwpa.exe. Hope they prove useful. JohnG

Hi John downloaded these help files and unzipped them to the Cakewalk folder but looks like they wont open in Vista tried changing the compatability but no luck keep getting this message . "The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which was used in previous versions of Windows and it is not supported in Windows Vista. For more information, see Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe) is no longer included with Windows on the Microsoft support website."Is there any way of getting this to work with Vista if not it dont really matter as I also downloaded the handbook you posted but having the help files accessible within the prog would be more convenient..........Thanx John Barry

Well I didn't know that! Not surprising as I never made the move to Vista and now never will. Actually I've only just made the move to XP. Had to as my old laptop (Win2k) is creaking at the seams and the new one came with Vista on it, but with a downgrade package. I ran the machine up with Vista just to make sure it worked then immediately did the XP install. My laptop, which is the same model as my sons, runs faster than his even though he has a faster CPU. He has Vista. I'll take a look for you and maybe post winhelp to my 4shared account. On the other hand you could try going here and see the info. www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6ebcfad9-d3f5-4365-8070-334cd175d4bb&DisplayLang=en and download the file. JohnG.

Yep Vista really slows things down ok ..I recently tried to downgrade to XP myself but that proved to be a big no no as lot of my newer stuff wouldnt work under XP so had no choice really but to return to the dreaded Vista .......Windows 7 on the other hand seems to making good strides and is reported to be a much more reliable and user friendly performer than Vista ....we shall see ..... John thanx for that link ...downloaded the the 32bit help file (x86) for my 32 bit Vista but still nothing got a new error message now tried what it said but no luck .....any ideas .......Thanx Barry "Copy the help file to another drive and try again"
