Hi Does anyone know of any free programme that tells you the BPM of an MP3 or Wav file, I know most midi file software shows it, but was looking for something more for MP3 files. I saw someone working with a Laptop doing disco and singing, he was able to scan all files and find beats to match songs for mixing together, he said that was a special DJ software with mixing decks etc, cost around £200, I also read that in itunes it now has a space in the columns for BPM info to be shown but it does not actually find the information for the file, you need something else to find and show that in the tag information first, so that's what I'm looking for? Any Ideas Jacqui

Hi Tiny Thanks for the tip. I did have a look at that one, but it does not appear to do more than one song at a time or enter the information into the song tags, there are several reviews here, but all seem a bit hit and miss, think I'll give the Mix Meister a try anyway to see how it goes. www.mmartins.com/mmartins/bpmdetection/bpmdetection.aspCheers Jacqui

Hi jaqui, If you put your mp3's into a folder and drag the folder into the mix meister, i think you will find that it will run through the list and do all of them. cheers geoff allegro

Wow, Tiny you clever little thing, that worked a treat, I would never have thought of that, have you ever checked to see how accurate it is? I see there is even a drop-down menu in smart playlists for slow and fast songs, I've never used it for any of those things before, I'm amazed know any other clever stuff? I might try the other Beat Meister gizmo Allegro recommended on the Laptop, to see how it compares, as I only have a basic soundcard on there. Thanks Guys you've been really helpful, what are your ironing skills like?? ;D Jacqui
