Hi All,i was wondering if any of the members could possibly give me a few suggestions of songs relating to a great song i have just learnt & have started performing at my oldies gigs which is "Whole Lotta Shakin Going on",i really love the fast beat of this song which i do at 180 speed & the other thing is the folks love to get up & dance to it,i also do Shake Rattle & Roll (many thanks to Allegro)at 167 speed which also is a go-er as well,i would appreciate any other similar type songs regardless of the era which would have the same type of driving beat,i also do "Dont be Cruel,Hound-dog,Bebopalula,Green Door" but the beat does not have the same drive to it they are more of a swing beat which doesn't have the same reaction.i have been having a look through my limited cd collection but nothing seems to jump out at me,all suggestions welcome,i suppose being a bit of a late starter at this game its still a big learning curve for me, Simmo....still searching for the Brylcreem

Hi Terry Hope your all doin well downunder. .....good to see you over your broadband woes and back amongst us again. .I'd say your looking for fast piano driven songs like Jerry Lee Lewis I actually do a medley of 3 songs like that and it goes down very well. ....not a medley as such but a slight break between each song ......the one you mentioned Whole Lotta Shakin ...Great Balls of Fire and Johnny B Goode not piano but a similar beat if you need any of these gimme a shout ok...talk soon Barry

Hi Simmo, How about Teddy Bear (Elvis), All my Lovin' (Beatles), Rock Around the Clock (Bill Haley), I saw her standing there (Beatles), Oh Boy (Buddy Holly). All guaranteed to get toes tapping amongst the older members of your audiences. All can be played at a similar tempo to those you're already doing.
Good luck mate, keep on rockin',
Roger

Hi Barry thanks for your interest & kind offer,i like the sound of the Johnny B Good as well as the other one,i have a great copy of Whole Lotta shakin if anyone else requires it,yes & all is well with our new server, its great to be back to normal again.I must admit it when i am playing at my gigs it gives me a big boost when i see the folks up jiving etc,i even get carried away & whack my distortion pedal on an attempt to do some simple lead riffs, sometimes it doesn't always work but i am improving,at the end of the day everybody including myself has a great time. Thanks once more for your offer i believe you have my new email addy......Terry
