Had my S700 for about a year and the display went not squiggly lines like that just faded could just about see the screen it got so bad......luckily enough I was within the warranty period 2 weeks left I was told but then again they said If I was I was over by a couple of days they would still prob have honoured the warranty anyway. Must say Yamaha were very efficient and friendly to deal with just boxed my kb and a courier picked it up shipped it to England and had it back within 4 weeks and didnt cost me a penny. I had a habit of leavng my kb on all night ..not on purpose just forgot to switch it off most nights ......I didnt tell them that of course but Id say that could have been the cause of th dispaly going on me. Seems as Frank says to be a very common problem with these kb's. Crazy considering the cost not good from a sales pont of view......... Regards Barry  |

I reckon Shyam should start a facebook or twitter page ,get a sort of complaint petition set up. Then go to the yamaha users newsgroups,contact the people on the link I posted.
After you have a number of complaints send a link to your page to all the yamaha web sites.
See what the feedback is.

Thank you guys for all the advice and inputs, but I think its a lost case. I will need to use the external display and hope and pray that that it doesnt give up on me. I wont get anything much if I sell my S 900 in this condition and I feel sad even to think about it, cos its a good keyboard otherwise.I wish Yamaha would atleast sell me a discounted display board . I have been their loyal user for years, with 2 DX7s, A DX 7S, A PSR500, A PSR640, 2 PSR 3000s and now a s 900 ........... and I'm a poor , 63 year old disabled musician, earning my bread and butter using this keyboard. from a Thirld World developing nation !!! Dont they have any pity at all ? Sob sob sob
