Quick update: I decided not to go through with the installation at this time because it is asking me to disable my other anti-virus software before continuing. I may do so later, but not right now. Thats the trouble with Anti virus software you can only run one at a time on your system but as with spyware progs you can have a few on at the same time

Thats strange Pat as I wasn't asked to disable AVG just downloaded the Comodo and Im now running both with no probs .I have often had 2 AV's and never had any probs maybe Im just lucky I guess.........you can never have too much protection I say......this Comodo AV has found 28 threats that AVG didn't find a lot of them heur viruses which Frank mentioned so if they can work in tandem I'll be well pleased ......thanx to Frank for the link to this software hadn't heard of it before...........regards Barry

Barry, I tried downloading again and this time I wasn't asked to turn of my other protections. At the minute I am updating the anti-virus section, it will take a while to do this. Once done I will run a search and see what it finds. I just hope my laptop isn't slowed down too much by having all this protection

See how you Pat go you can always delete it if it does slow things down too much but give it time to familiarize itself to your setup ....if any conflicts develop then we'll l know its time to get rid of one or the other .......I find Comodo is asking permission for everything I do which is a bit of a pain right now and slows things down a bit reminds me a bit like Norton ... but Id say its just a once off once you click "remember this action" it should retain the info for future tasks and will know what progs and files are safe to open and which ones poses a threat ......it seems like an excellent prog only time will tell I guess.......Cheerz Barry

The opposite with me....i had Comodo and it let all sorts of crap through... ...on top of that it slows your computer down big time...all talk and no action IMO...i've tried them all and AVG remains the best for me.

Well, it found 23 suspect items. I removed 22, one was part of a set up I use very regularly so was worried about deleting that in case it affects things.
I will monitor things and see how it goes here on in and if it slows things down I will get shot of it.

OK.
I have just deleted that new anti-virus system.
I found it made things sluggish, far too sluggish for me to want to cope with. Another thing, it interfered with my touch pad. It wasn't allowing me to scroll web pages up and down and as soon as I deleted it things were back to normal.
Another thing. It did a lot of "securing" certain of my other programs that I know to be safe.

Pat , I have not had any of the problems you mention. Are you running it with AVG still installed ? Once you allow remember these actions it settles down. I was going to revert back to AVG when I got the computer but the Tech said it would take a few days to get familiar with it. I am happy at the moment.

I've found things actually running faster with Comodo! I also use a great free spyware programme called 'Super AntiSpyware' www.superantispyware.com/Two Anti Virus programs running on the same computer is not a good idea. There can be conflicts and false positives. They will both also try and use resources at startup.
