Sir John Dankworth passed away yesterday aged 82. In my humble opinion he (along with his widow, Cleo Laine) was a tremendous influence on the British jazz scene. Sleep well John.

I`m sorry i missed this sad posting i would agree wholeheartedly he was probably the leading light in the world of jazz and made the opening for most of the jazz acts that followed him he was a complete original and genuine guy
