Hi folks 'Ole Simmo' was wondering if it is still possible to go back into old postings,i remember before you used to just type in (say when it was 100 postings) eg,150 & it would take you into the previous 50 posts,is this still possible, now & again i will remember a particular subject that was discussed some weeks ago that was of interest to me but had unfortunately passed the 50 posts limit,is this lost in cyber-space forever or can i have a 2nd look at it,it is surprising that even though the members that are posting seems to have decreased slightly in numbers it does'nt take long to reach the 50 limit,i may be missing something (yeah ok !!!!) but i'm sure it must be possible, Best wishes to all ,Simmo

Hiya Terry, If you have a particular topic you want to refer back to over past posts eg 'Guitar Strings' then you go to the top of the home page just below the midi hangout banner and there you'll see the search function with the magnifying glass logo (just right of the homepage and help logos). Click on that and type in your topic eg 'Guitar Strings' and it will bring up all the back posts on that topic. Other forums I've been on in the past eg Fender Forum will have 'previous 20 messages' and 'next 20 messages' at the bottom of the page as clickable navigation links ... I haven't noticed anything like that on here though.
Best regards ... Graham:)

Hi Terry Grahams right there ...you could also when you do a search go to the bottom of the page and type in e.g. 365 days where it says (posted within)and you should get posts on that particular subject going back a year..........might be worth a try.......regards Barry

Terry and Barry are spot on; using the "search" facility will help find old topics. Another way is to subscribe to those topics that are of interest, this way you can immediately access them even if they are years old via your Profile.
To do this click on Profile, then click on Bookmarks where you'll see any threads you have book marked [subscribed] to. Now, all you have to do is click on the topic of interest.
Easy ;D
Incidentally, we changed the 100 latest posts to 50 because of the forum's system was proving too slow to load at that number. But it can be return ito 100 if members don't mind waiting a little longer for it to load up.
Let us know.
