Well...Ireland missed out on a virtually guaranteed runners-up spot in the group...it'll be interesting now to see what Trappatoni pulls out of the bag against Italy. Still, with the quality of players we have he's not doing too bad. The pundits annoy me..constantly banging on about getting Stephen Ireland in the squad!! He's been asked and he refused...what more can you do?? I hope we do qualify and he has to stay at home freezing his nuts off in Manchester while the rest are sunning it up in South Africa!! Sorry...rant over!! Scotland and Wales seem to be struggling a bit...can't see any probs for England though..they are playing very well!! Congrats to Northern Ireland too who had a great win against Poland. Tubbs............Midi Hangout sports news handing over to weegeo for the weather!! ;D

Aye you share the same opinion as me Tubbs. The fella is a quality midfielder, but he is a lying twat who disrespected his family and team mates in order to skip playing for his country. Ireland don't need players like that. We played dreadful to be honest on Saturday Tubbs, I for one thought that we were lucky to get the draw. The chances that we created in the second half we need to put away. We still have a chance but it will be tough, but it is games like this were Ireland do rise to the occasion. I also want to congratulate N.Ireland on their fine win over Poland. Arthur Boruc had a shocker in nets. I think England will qualify with ease.

Ireland need a manager like Jack Charlton again. Some one who has the brains to get the team to play to their strength. Every manager since him is trying to get these players and the generation of players before them to play football and there are none of them has this ability. They cant hold on to the ball when pressureised. The midfield is non existent and yet they are trying to play through midfield. Charlton made sure that any football that was played or tried to be played was played in their half of the pitch and when the other team had the ball in the Irish half there were two banks of four and a goalkeeper behind it making it virtualy impossible to score. (Only when Packie had a memory loss and forgot he was the goalkeeper) When pressureised in their own half they would simply play the ball back to their own corner and let McGrath or Irwin deal with it. The only joy Ireland had on Sat was when the long ball was played from defence Jacks Theory Again...Come back Jack......Please Please Please...........The only one on that RTE panel that has any brains is Souness.............Gerry.

Yeah I totally agree Gerry, we should've won that game last night. Italians started getting dirty midway through the second half, they got away with a lot. It was a definite sending off aswell the player made no effort to go for the ball. Great wins for Scotland N.Ireland adn England. Wales played excellent but just could not find enough to score. I watched the highlights of the England game and being a Man Utd supporter I thought Rooney's tackle was horrendous, how he stayed on the field is beyond me. I'd love to see all the home nations get through as it makes it that biut more interesting. A special mention aswell to Bolivia who hammered Argentinia last night 6 - 1.

Here is the weather
There is a strong heatwave all over Ireland today and the `green Fields` have suddenly got so much greener. Well done to both our teams on great wins, i think the last we [N.Ireland] were group leader Mozart was no1 in the charts lol lol but there may well be a cold front bearing down on us in the north. Last night the Poles beat San Marino 10 [yes 10] 0 lifting the poles right up behind us on goal difference.
