A big hi from the ole fella down under, just to let you know that the Simmo's are all still alive and kicking, I'm not out there gigging any more as I felt it was time to move into retirement mode after many year's of entertaining the oldie's in aged care facilities, nursing homes, dementia wards etc, I still do the occasional gig at a nursing home where unfortunately I have a close relative who must spend the rest of he's life in this facility. I have managed to sell most of my equipment via Gumtree but I still have kept my two Ovation guitar's plus a small PA system to play on a social basis BBQ's etc. I do seem to have a lot of spare time on my hands so the garden has never looked so good as well as productive ie, freshly picked oranges, mandarin's, lemon's, plus a large crop of grapes almost ready for picking, add to this a couple of beds full of all types of veggie's. Our summer will be on us before very long with the temp's looking at around 35c next week, it has been around the 30c for a couple of weeks which is very comfortable but Jan/Feb/March are our hottest months when we get can temp's up to 45c+ which my good lady Patricia is not a huge fan of. I would like keep in touch with any of my old hangout mates to share gossip music family new's etc, it's always good to exchange our stories. I have been having a lot of computer problems of late but it seem's to have settled down at last hopefully.
Very best wishes to all member's & there family's

Hi Eddie, many thanks for your reply to my recent post, hope all is well your end ,family etc, we are all good this end, alway's seem to be busy, garden ,visiting family & friend's etc. weather is pretty warm at the moment with the temp's hitting the 40c plus in the last few day's, summer has come early, we don't usually see it this hot until Jan/Feb so it is going to be a long hot summer for 2020. Patricia my good lady prefer's it a bit cooler. Our veggie plot in the back yard is getting very productive at the moment with lot's of salad stuff ready for picking, also our fruit tree's are really loaded up as well ,we are picking orange's, lemon's, mandarin's at the moment and the grape vine's have gone beserk, loaded up and almost ready for picking, it is the best crop we have ever had, our neighbour's & friends will also do ok as well. all the best to you & the family from down Baldivis way.

Hi Jim, great to hear from you again, it's hard to believe that it was that long ago since you had your operation, it must have been a tough time for yourself & the family, what with your good wife as well going through the mill, or as we say over here, "it never rains but it pour's". I can see it will not be hopefully to long before you are both back on the road again. Patricia my good lady has also not been the best recently what with having vertigo attacks, it came out of the blue but thankfully she is making a slow recovery. As for this ole fella (myself),the doctor's found out that I have got a little problem with my heart, it is something that apparently I have had for quite some time but I had never noticed anything unusual, because of my age (80 years)he recommended that an operation would probably do more harm than good. It is not life threatening so I am quite happy to live a normal life as usual. I have decided to give up playing in the oldie's homes' etc but I will still keep my hand in with the music etc.I have an older brother who is in an age care home due to a terminal illness, so I am going to give a concert next week to all of the patient's, staff etc,it is only an hour concert which I am quite happy with, I have seen several performer's playing there while visiting him and the standard is pretty high, hopefully I can keep up to the standard as it's been a while since I have played out due to complication's on a hernia operation I had a while ago. That's all the gossip from down our way Jim,we are getting an early start to our summer with temps going into the low fortie's (44c on one occasion)Patricia is not a lover of the hot weather but it looks like being a hot summer...Very best wishes to you & the family Jim, will talk again soon. The Simmo's from down under
