Hi folks just had a quick squizzy ( Aussie slang for look ) : ) at the latest UK weather on our local tv news,Wow!!!! it must be surely out of season to get that sort of stuff when you are nearly into April and by all acounts there is still a bit more to come.By the looks of it the northern area's like Scotland seem to be copping the worst of it,let us know of conditions in you own areas, I guess our very own John G would also be feeling the cold snap plus our members across in Ireland as well.I myself have distant memories of this sort of weather when I spent time in the 50's & 60's ( before we made the decision to pay our ten pounds to emigrate to Aussie ) in the UK working outside at anything from labouring on the roads to being a "milko" delivering dairy goods in two counties ( Sussex & Somerset ) if I remember the take home pay after deductions was around seventeen pounds a week for a six day week. What I find now when I look back in time is it really makes us appreciate everything we have at this point in time, firstly health followed by a contented & happy marriage ( 53 years this year ) next would be proud parents to a whole mob of great kids ,grandkids etc and also some really special friends. As you can probably see "Ole Simmo " is starting to go into one of he's famous rambling sessions but is is certainly good to reflect back on our life, learn by our mistakes & move on to live life at its fullest.Ok getting back on track again all is good this end, weather is typical autumn weather, cooling down at nights ( in fact as i type this letter I am into my track pants and sweater as it is really cool at nights around 18c but still getting up to low 30c's during the day with most days being sunny,Its nowhere near the UK temps but its what you get used to.The music is still a big part of the Simmo's family life which is great, I have a break of about 10 days gig free but back into it next week.
Well thats about it for now,Patricia mentioned that she would like another visit to the the UK next year to catch up with remaining family friends etc so you may well see the Simmo's running loose around the place,we would definitely take in Ireland & Scotland this time,we did have a brief visit to S Ireland the last time about 5 years ago but would definitely make it longer next trip and hopefully manage to meet many more of the forum members, we were able to catch up with 3 members on our last visit which was really one of the highlights of our holiday.
Better stop my rambling its time for a cuppa.
All the very best wishes to all the Hangout members...
