Hi all, this is just to let you all know that Pat (Emerald Midi) is currently on the mend and doing well after having a heart attack and having to have stents placed in his arteries, i believe he spent a few days in hospital and is now recovering at home.
I know what he is going through (as do a few members of the forum) as i also had to have a heart bypass 9 months ago and i feel great so i am sure that Pat will be running around again in no time. I am sure you will all join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

Last Wednesday morning I suffered a heart attack and ended up in hospital. An angiogram was performed on Friday to check out my heart's condition. It was discovered that three arteries were affected, one was blocked completely and the others partially so. To make a long story short a procedure was carried out called an Angioplasty and a stent was placed in the blocked artery to free it up. I am delighted to say everything went perfectly. Anyway, after four days in hospital, I was allowed home yesterday, and I am already on the way to making as full a recovery as possible – Thank God! Thanks again lads.

Hi Pat,just like to let yourself & the family know that the Simmo's down-under are thinking of you all at this time, what a shock it must have been for you all but we are so pleased that it is all under control & that you are on the road to recovery,in fact you will probably be a lot fitter than you were prior to your op.I think that most of us during our lives have had at some time these "wake up calls" which really makes us sit up & appreciate just how precious life is,anyway mate keep us informed of your progress. All the very best wishes to you all from the Simmo's

Thanks lads for your messages of supports, they are very encouraging and comforting. Yes, a "wake-up call is precisely what it is and one that will be taken very seriously. My new lifestyle has already started, and I look forward to embracing it with great enthusiasm

Pat,
Glad to hear you are recovering well after your heart attack. I had some stents fitted also last November after some chest pain and dizzy spells..... but I didn't have the initial heart attack like you....this must have been fairly scary for you. Anyway, I'm sure you will make a full recovery and soon be in tip top shape.

Hey Pat,
I just popped into the forum and saw your news. I'm really pleased to hear that you're recovering well after your heart attack and subsequent angioplasty. We joke here in Cyprus that the hospitals must have bought a job lot of stents because almost everyone we know, that has sought medical help, ends up being fitted with at least one. Joking aside though, they seem to work in the vast majority of cases.
Hope you continue to enjoy your new lease of life and your new life style for a very long time. Take care.
Roger

Hi Pat I'm sure you'll be fit as a fiddle in no time. I had two stents put in about 5 years ago and the ticker is sure ticking along fine. I never haed any reason to change my life style and am doing good. Ofcourse I dont drink or smoke and am like a Sadhu, so I guess that helps. I did feel good, immediately after they put in the stents and I believe you're feeling good too. After all the passages are all clear now !! Do take your prescribed medicines regularly though !! You are a FIT man so you'll be as good as new very very soon. My family and I wish you all the very best. God Bless you, Pat Smile !!!!
