I looked at this Eddie, and reading various write ups on the net, most people said it was OK but a bit staid and boring. and could have done with a bigger display screen. I decided to stick with my Ketron SD2 until something comes along that's affordable and blows my mind. Ketron do an Audya 4 module which is stunning but costs the price of a new small kitchen.

Sorry Eddie thats tonight Fri dunno what day we have ;D Ill let ya know how it goes for sure.. Im doin a small party and they asked me if I could provide some music afterwards to dance to . So I'll use the Citronic I'll have my Set List on one folder on the USB/Card and have a seperate folder for the Dance Music . The double deck and controls makes it much easier to fade in and out for the latter part of the night . Ill get back to you soon.... Cheerz Barry

Hi Eddie If I understand you correctly your just looking for something to play your files not an actual sound module correct? As far as I can see the Roland is just a Sound Module Interface that would need to be connected up to a KB to access the sounds and also plays midis and mp3/wavs but I stand corrected on that . The Citronic is just a player that dj's often use for playing their music unfor it only plays mp3's but all my midifiles have been converted anyway so that don't bother me . I haven't tried it at a normal gig yet but for the party fri nght I found it excellent for fading in and out of songs . You can store and name all your files in specific folders.e.g. Country/Rock/Irish etc, and depending on the size of your sd/usb card it can hold 1000's of mp3's. Check out the link below and as far as I'm aware Jacqui and levi both use this player so I'm sure they and myself would help you get started with anything you need to know . I found the display bright and plenty big for my poor eyesight and being able to use both players with one usb/sd card allows you to line up your next song and automatically plays when the current song finishes. The only downside for me personally was that all files are stored alphabetically as I'm used to lining up 3 songs at a time when there's a dancing crowd but theres ways around that as well. Check it out anyway and let us know how you go... for the price I think its great value anyway and providing you have backups you can say goodbye to all those disks thrown all over the stage...lol Cheerz Barry www.gravityaudio.co.za/a/8543/citronic-mpsd-2-usbdual-sd-card-mp3-player-amp-mixer

Thanks, Barry, much appreciated. I have most of my files on mp3 so i guess the Citronic would be fairly easy to use once you get the hang of things. Your right --i'm fed up with the amount of minidiscs i have to take with me to the gig, presently about 24. So I think i'll take the plunge and get one of these and if i have any questions i know i'll have support from you guys. I'll keep you posted

Eddie 24 disks geez and I thought I had a lot with only 10 ;D Ya well as I say if its just an mp3 player you need and ipods or laptops are not for you you can't go wrong with the Citronic . If you find the dual player confusing you can always use just one side ...but if your planning on using both sides obviously your gonna need 4 leads instead of 2 . Handy also if your taking a break just create a seperate music folder and leave it play away till you get back no need to be worrying about changing disks anymore. Another important thing when your ordering sd cards make sure they're SDHC not just SD if not they might not work on your pc I needed to get an adapter for mine to work. I have 2 Sandisk 16GB SDHC cards and 2 usb sticks each 8 gb(the Citronic takes both) you can never have enough back ups I think. www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=sandisk+sd-card&tag=googiehydra-21&index=aps&hvadid=3956730510&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16176062651151843589&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&ref=pd_sl_5uy8zgan93_eAnyway onwards and upwards anymore questions feel free to ask Regards Barry
