Hi Folks, Just thought I'd pop in and post a bulletin on our friend Simmo. He had the operation yesterday, not in the morning as planned, but in the late afternoon (Oz time of course). Five hours start to finish! I understand that it went well. Patricia and family were able to see him, very briefly, afterwards. Still very groggy from what I can understand. Only to be expected under the circumstances I imagine. This morning's phone call from Patricia was most welcome and said that he was okay after such an ordeal. Believe it or not, concerned that I should post an update for you load of reprobates! The report was that he was looking much better than he had done for some months, which is really excellent news, and a great relief. He sends his regards and asked me to thank you all so much for all your good wishes. Patricia has logged in on his behalf to see them. I imagine he will be a few days in hospital, so I'll try to keep you updated with his progress until he is ready to pick up the reigns himself. Get well soon, Terry. Best regards, JohnG. Thanks for the update John....glad to hear Terry has his op over with and is on the mend....get well soon Terry!!!

And Here's the latest,
Hadn't heard much for a couple of days, and beginning to be a tad concerned, so ... decided to take the plunge and gave Patricia a call.
"Hello John" she said, and "have a word with Terry." Blow me down, you could have knocked me over with a feather. There was Terry, home again and on the phone. Released from hospital earlier today and settling back in.
There followed a half hour conversation catching up with all the news.
The long and short of it is he's back home, sounding fine, and seemingly full of high spirits. Good on yer, mate! Fair dinkum. I'm going to start looking up plane fares to Oz. Any ideas?
I knew you'd be pleased. JohnG.

Hi folks, just thought it was about time the old fella from down-under....Ole Simmo got cranked up again after missing out on all of the recent action, news, gossip etc from the forum of which i'm sure there has been plenty since my absence,in fact i have just had a scroll through the recent posts & was absolutely amazed by the positive feedback & kind comments from my fellow members on my recent foray into hospital....it was unbelievable & Patricia & i do sincerely thank you one & all for your extremely kind wishes which you posted,it is indeed very humbling. The good news is i am back on track with only a couple more hurdles to cross...the bad news is other than the comments i mentioned in a previous post re ",Simmo is going to annoy the crap out of you with some of he's manic ramblings" .....i will be off the road for busking & oldies gigs for a couple of months but thanks to our eldest son who will be filling in for me with regard to the oldies concerts. Our good friend & fellow member the one & only John G has been a blessing & a good friend by passing on any news etc to the forum...we both thank him for that.Ole Simmo has now got time on he's hands to crank up some new songs etc of which i am looking forward to.....i might even come forward a few years & surprise everyone with some recent songs. . Once again fellow members...thank you so much for everything...will be in touch very soon.. Ps...Just of interest to fellow members, because we have access to an extremely good & cheap overseas phone plan over here in OZ in which we are able to talk for good periods of time to, in our case friends & relatives in the UK/Ireland etc..eg... a call for around an hour only costs us a paltry AU50cents which in UK stirling at current rates is about 34 pence which is a super deal for us,the only condition is that we can only call landline numbers,if we call mobiles it just gobbles the money up.These calls do not incur any costs to the receiver...I can remember back in the late sixties & seventies for us to ring family, friends etc the cost would be horrendous, hence we used to only ring at the most about twice a year, usually Xmas or deaths etc. What ole Simmo is suggesting is that if any member would like to have an occasional chat about almost anything just give a hoy it would be an interesting experiment for all concerned to share some local gossip ...music yarn....etc......The Simmo's.. PS ...Aussie members...our home phone plan allows us free unlimited STD calls anywhere in OZ...so give it some thought ...landlines only
