Hi All, Terry, known to you as Simmo or the old busker, (did I spell that correctly?) asked me to post this little table of the weather he's been experiencing recently. At my end of the universe it was -10C this morning. And many brass monkeys are rolling on the floor clutching the groin area! Al the best, coldly, JohnG.

Hi all & many thanks John for putting up our weather info,i just got myself in a bit of a muddle (nothing unusual) trying to get the pic up,as you see folks we are copping it a little bit warmer than usual this summer & we still have a few months to go as well, the upside is that we are getting a reasonable amount of rain due to the cyclone that is sitting off the coast further up which is causing a lot of the humidity & some tropical storms.Locally we hit a maximum of 43c which in the old farenheit scale is approx 107 degrees but strangely enough holiday makers from the cooler climates still stretch out on towels sunbaking,i don't think they realise the dangers of skin cancer etc.I actually have missed a few busking sessions owing to lack of shade in some of my usual spots,it probably is not good for my equipment either. On the age care gigs all is well plus most of the venues have air-con,let us all know how you are faring with the weather in your area's,just a short ramble for now will catchup soon with all of the local news etc.....The Simmo's stretched out in the lounge with the air-con fired up..PS...in the early days 40 odd years ago we did not even have the luxury of a fan in fact with our youngest we used to put the baby crib in the bath as that was the coolest place in the house.

No sweat, Terry.
Perhaps that's the wrong phrase, given the topic! Certainly there's not much sweat here. Icicles are in plentiful supply though. And it's risen 10 degrees since 7 this morning. So the brass monkeys are all searching around for a brazing torch. The thought makes my eyes water!
Regards, JohnG.

Well, I thought it was chilly the other morning, it's even chillier today!
Went to get the car out to run Susanne to the station (I'm retired now and don't have to worry about bl@@dy commuting any more, thank goodness. Thought "my goodness, it's a little parky this morning!"
Got in the car, in the garage, and switched on. -6C the readout read. "Crikey!" Waited a little while for the light to go out, it's a diesel, then we got on our way.
-7, -8, -9, -10, ... -11, .... -12 ..... -13 ...... -13.5 .......... -14.
At least the Siberian wind isn't blowing today, so it actually doesn't feel as cold as it did earlier in the week.
Nonetheless, it's a wee bit nippy today. I'm saying nothing about the white stuff, knowing that mentioning it by name might tempt fate.
If you've got some + degrees to swap, Terry, I can forward a few - ones in exchange.
Keep warm, or cool, depending where you live, Regards, JohnG.

Here in Cyprus it's possibly the coldest winter I can remember in 11 years of living here. It's also been one of the wettest on record. Although the temperature seldom gets below zero Celsius it feels a lot colder as the houses are built to cope with the soaring summer temperatures when it often tops 40 degrees. Even though we have central heating, cavity wall insulation and double glazing, they struggle to make much impression when all the floors are tiled and the ceilings high. At least the winter doesn't last as long as it does in the UK and other parts of the world. By April we'll be complaining it's to bl..dy hot!
Roger (off to put an extra pair of thermals on)

Hi Terry,
Don't worry about the weather in Australia because our Prime Minister is going to fix the weather for good, from Parliament in Canberra, by introducing a carbon tax.

Hi again folks, interesting to hear of all of the different imputs to this subject of the current weather in your particular locallity,we have just seen on our tv news all of the the latest on the cold weather that most of Europe & the UK are experiencing at the moment,Wow!!! that looks cold, Brrrrrr!!!,lets be hearing all of your stories & experiences etc on this subject.Hey Weegeo i bet that you just can't wait to fly out for your holiday in Malta,it just has to be a little warmer over there, roll on the 21st.I bet our John G is copping it cold over in he's part of the world as well,it seems like Europe is taking the worst of it,funnily enough i think that the cold weather has hit us folks in W Aussie as well, today we literally shivered with the temperature barely climbing up to 28c & wait for it********it dropped to a staggering 14c overnight, which after out recent warm spell of most days in the 40c's with minimums at night as low as 25c the change was truly dramatic,i must admit that the Simmo's went into panic mode getting the blankets out of the plastic bins where we had them stored away until next winter, windows & doors were closed to stop all of those chilly draughts & at one stage it looked like the gas heater which was stored away in the garage may be pulled out to overcome this sudden "Simmo" household emergency...but.... good news...have just seen our local forecast....back in the high 30's this week,so i guess we got a bit carried away in the heat!! of the moment. ;D. A quiet upcoming week on the oldie's gig scene ,just the one job tommorow which may give Ole Simmo a couple of opportunities to do a little busking, weather permitting, other than that all the jobs around the place are pretty well up to date, however!!!! i am sure that the "War office" will have a different take on that . Thats about it for now....Simmo
