Ian, i sincerely do not know what to say.

To lose a family member around christmas is a very hard thing to comprehend. Over the past few years, I have lost my grandfather, who died at 59 on the 19th of december, and an uncle aged only 49 on the same date, just a few years later.

i can only imagine that your grief would be 1000x more than what i felt at the time.

one thing i always love more than family is good memories, and by the sounds of it you have fond memories of a man who worked hard all his life, and inbedded the gift of music into you, those memories will be with you forever.

I´m not a religious person, never have known to be, but i do believe there is something better after this life, I always take great comfort in knowing that in the next life, there is no pain, no suffering, and i would encourage anyone to take strength from knowing that.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, and i offer my sincerest condolences to you and your family, from my family.

I know it´s a typical, cliche, but if there is anything i can do, even offer a channel to talk or whatever, i am only an email away.

There is an old Irish saying:

Sorry for your loss Baden mate....i lost my dad almost 5 years ago now, he was my best mate too and i miss him big time....also lost my mother 20 years ago...she was only 52...miss them both so much still...but i know they are with me in spirit...keep your chin up...it does get easier as time goes by.
