I have spoken with Pat before raising this topic
I was checking my emails this morning and i was `surprised`to see that Glenn Humber had accessed my paypal account and took 15.50 as a subscription fee for his MM site, i immediately contacted Paypal for an explanantion. I explained to them the nature of his business and how the services he was selling were`nt original as advertised, they have agreed to refund my cash and investigate his account with a view to closing it down. So i would strongly advise that if you have subscribed to his site before that you check your bank statements.
My subscription was taken 5 weeks after it`s due date.

This is unfortunate and one would hope it's simply an oversight that will soon be rectified.
I am glad, however, to hear that PayPal is on the ball, that they are investigating matters. I suppose the lesson here is for anyone who has no wish to renew their membership with the Midimart website to check everything has been cancelled and ensure the same thing doesn't happen to them.
Thanks George for bring this to our attention.

He did this to me last year without asking my permission. At that time I didn't mind too much as I was going to renew anyway but I sure as hell will this time. I have already told him not to do it again this year. How does one go about closing your account with MidiMart? Does anyone know? I can't find anything on the main website. Maybe one just writes in? Folks
I contacted Glenn by email, soon after this situation was highlighted, and asked him to ensure that no money was taken in future. He replied, saying that if I wanted to cancel the Subscription, then I had to contact PayPal, and do so myself. There is a facility within the PayPal structure to do this...assuming of course that you are using PayPal!!!

The way I went about cancelling my subscription (last year) to Glenn's site was to logon to my PayPal account. I then navigated to HISTORY, selected Subscriptions from the"Show" dropdown list and then entered a date period ranging from today going back 18 months (to allow for the 'tardy' payments). I located the "Glenn Humber" entries that had "Active" next to them, clicked on the details link and then navigated to the bottom of the new page and pressed the cancel subscription button. Hopefully this will work for other Paypal members. I hope this is helpful regards Warren

I am going to make this topic a "sticky" for the foreseeable future so as to ensure as many as possible are aware of what can happen if matters are not personally taken into account.

ONLY the home page has been changed. The rest of the site is up and working in it entirety, including the join page and the file downoads. I checked. Even my old midimart e-mail address is still working, even though he removed it from the contacts page.
As for Glenn's sneakiness in digging into people's pockets, I was informed of it a year ago when a member complained to me. But, I was in no position to let everyone else know. He set it up so no matter how you pay him, there is an automatic renewal, but did he use honest and decent business practices and tell anyone this? No. He relies on people not checking their statements.
And to top it off, if you e-mail him regarding this, you will not get a reply unless you threaten legal action and even show that you have taken steps in that direction.
The man is a complete sleeze and a con man.

I just cancelled my subscription. Hopefully there won't be any lingering problems. I'm glad I went ahead and did it, as I noticed that I was up for renewal on May 3, 2009. Squeaked that one in under the wire.

Having cancelled your subscriptions with midimart if you have had money taken from your account and cannot obtain a refund do as i did and tell them that unless the money is refunded you will be instucting your solicitor to start legal proceedings. IT WORKS WONDERS
