I have a beautiful midi of a song which I have placed on the Members stage. Only love. It works beautifully through the computer, but once I put it on my Yamaha Tyros, Ive only got piano and percussion. Any Ideas guys and gals?  |

Could you let me have a go at your midi.you sound great singing the song and your scenery is beautiful.I lived in North Wales for two years back in the fifties and it's just the way I remembered it.

Can you play other midi files okay ?
Could be the format 0 or 1.
Could be the instrument address .
Could be syst ex message.
Could be track,port or channel allocation.
If its sequenced by Char Chai Mee Sang Nin it will be full of Roland addresses.
Send me a copy if you wish and I will try and sort it for you.

I am about to send you all the file, thank you all. Made all banks Gen mid 0 and deleted sys ex.Lets know if that fixed it. Might pay to rename it as you may end up with a few and can't save them. |

Frank is right....i found this on a tyros Q&A page.. Quote NEW! When using a sequencer, why do some midis play only a piano?
Some midis use sysex events instead of program change events to change voices. Many programs do not recognize these and treat the file if it had no voice assignments, which defaults to the piano voice.

Hi Geraint,
It plays on my cakewalk,ubase,tecnics keyboard and roland sound canvas ok,but a message did come up on the sound canvas saying,The address of the Exclusive message that is being received is incorrect.I've recorded it again on my keyboard and the message has gone so I'll send it to you.

Geordie Just use cakewalk....view.....sys/ex......delete. Make sure all banks show 0 gen midi Check in view event list and remove NPN details. |

Thank you all for your help, its certainly done the trick, I'm over the moon. The only thing that happened was that the lyrics had gone, but I've re-inserted them and its perfect.
I dont use cakewalk or anything that advanced, all I have is GN MIDI and JAZZ 32, would these be able to perform the repair that you did?.
