I meant visual.....if you were using a dvd player and needed to access a song in the middle of the dvd full of tunes you would need to see the list.... i used a small tv.

I'm with you now Baden, yes i see what you mean,in my case because of a fading memory & everything else that creeps up on you at 72 years of age,i have my book alongside me which gives me a numbered list of song titles inside the front cover plus the lyrics are also in the book just in case Ole Simmo get senior moments or otherwise known as( interrupted interludes) during a gig.i think we have finally got this one sorted. best wishes to you mate... Hi guys ... Well I finally decided on this one and it arrived yesterday. First impressions its pretty lightweight looks user friendly enough and above all the display is excellent which was the most important issue for me. It has 2 consoles which is handy as you can load one song while the other is playing or if your hands are tied up just cue up your next song beforehand ..... it has 2 sd card slots and i usb slot can hold a max of 32 gb of music which is pretty much as anyone would want. You can also access just one card from each console at the same time which is also pretty cool. All in all Im pretty happy so far the only downside is trying to find tutorials is nigh impossible as I m pretty new to all this dj stuff and need to sort out the faders . But having said that levi and Jacqui will prob help me out as their more familiar with this player. I'll be holding onto my md players as back up anyway so Ill slowly ease myself into it when Im ready ........ Thanx again guys for all your input and esp to Jacqui and levi for pointing me in the right direction ;D Now for some serious converting over the weekend ...Happy Days eh ! Hello Guys and Dolls
Congrats on the new unit Barry.....hope it goes well for you Does it have a facility to plug a foot pedal in to start / stop or is triggering the next track still a 'by hand' job?

Hello Simmo
Any chance you could put up a picture of your dvd player set up And perhaps describe a bit more on how you set out your track list so as the mp3s can be seen on the screen etc What type of player is it and what we need to look for in the product description before buying one as to whether it will do the job or not......
I have had a brief look at one or two an it strikes me as a cheap option to make a 'tool for a job' with out any of the extra frills that ultimately might never get used.
Im thinking in terms of having a go at 'butchering' one to add xlr out put for the audio.....so less chance of audio connections getting broken and also jack outputs for start/stop, forward / reverse functions.....make it hands free so to speak How quickly does each track load up and does it automatically start playing the next track when the previous one finishes or have you worked out a way to manage this etc etc
Cheers
Vince

Yes it has inputs for control a and control b so I'm assuming they're for foot pedals might try it out later.
Yes they load instantaneously depending of course on the mp3 itself make sure theres no long pauses at the start and it will start once hit the cue button/foot pedal. This particular unit is strictly an mp3 player and only plays mp3's not wave files . Oh ya It can be set to stop after each song "Single " or "Continous"
Only getting used to the unit myself now if you need anymore info Im sure some of the other guys might help you for now .

Hi, Barry, I see you got the MPSD 2, which has a small mixer with crossfade. I don't have one of these units, but I'm guessing that the crossfade works the same as on the disco decks I had many years ago. As a DJ, you would put the slider across to "deck 1" and play that tune, then you can start a tune on deck 2 & move the slider across to that side so that as deck 1 fades, deck 2 takes over. Unless you want to use this function, I would leave the slider in the middle, to give equal volume to each deck. I hope that makes sense. Dave
