Thanks for the comments and greetings. I miss those old days when I had hours to hang around and chat about midi stuff. Life rolls on, eh? Still, it's good to see that my old virtual buddies are still doing their thing and enjoying the camaraderie in this unique corner of the Internet. Love to you all, Gibbo

Hi Shyam, Thanks for the interest. No, I haven't given up on midi. I still do all my backtracks in midi, I love the functionality of midi controllers for other things such as turning reverb off and on, switching lights, selecting effects patches and harmoniser settings etc. I haven't really changed my setup too much over the last few years, just added a few toys like the Voicelive 2 foot pedal. I use 2 x Roland XV5050 modules for the sounds with the srx01 drum card, there are some great sounds in that magic XV5050 box! I think I posted earlier that I'd moved about an hour and a half north of Sydney and do a lot of my work on the Central Coast now. I've hung onto a few of my favourite Sydney gigs, the ones that seem to make the 3 hour round-trip worthwhile. I'm still doing 2 or 3 gigs a week (most weeks, that is) and keep pretty busy doing a whole lot of stuff that I really enjoy; landscaping, building stuff, fixing things around the house etc. I'll try to pop in more regularly, now that I've posted this that makes it twice this year which is twice as much as I posted last year! As I said, I have great affection for the many friends I've met here over the years, I'll try to remember that more often in the future. Cheers, Gibbo

Hi Gibbo Thanks for posting in. Nice to hear you're keeping busy and gigging around making people happy. Talking about landscaping, that must be really interesting . Do you have pics of the projects you've done. You can mail them to me ............ would love to see those. We should consider putting in a new interest section here in the forum with ideas and tips from our members , DIY ideas etc etc.......... I'm sure many of us musos have lots of other useful hobbies that we do around the house and sing while doing them. Cheers Gibbo ............ smile !
