My to host cable cuts out not sure where to look as the terminals in the host jack are tiny.SO I thought to go the other route via usb - midi. I will go to a music shop and get one that way I can return it if it is not compatible. Thanks for you input. Hope all goes well for Susanne. Frank.

Thanks Frank,
I think I have a spare to host cable kicking around somewhere. 9 pin D-sub one end, 8 pin mini-DIN the other, 1.8 metres (or so). Any good? I'll have a little search. Yours for the cost of postage if you want, and if I have it still. JohnG.

Found it! Yes, 8 pin mini DIN one end (it fits my Yamaha MU1000 "to host" socket) but what about the other end? My one has the 9-pin serial (sometimes called RS-232 plug) at the other. I think it's this one. www.allpinouts.org/index.php/SGI_Serial_9_pin. Length about 2 metres. Any good? JohnG.
