Hi, I am Rob and I joined recently and thought it was time to say hello. I am an oap from Kings Lynn in Norfolk and do mostly step recording, all self taught but have had some good results. I wondered if step recording was acceptable on here or frowned upon, so I won't post anything until I get the OK. Luckily for me, I have all the time in the world to do my music, so I am a happy guy !!

A big hi to you Rob,welcome to the forum i'm sure that you will find plenty to interest you, like yourself i am also pensioner who although mad about the music ,backing tracks etc was a bit of a late starter into this sort of thing but!!! with the guidance of the membership & staff i am beginning to see some daylight at the end of what has been an extremely long & dark tunnel, there help has been incredible.I'm not to familiar with your part of the country other than its on the Eastern side of England.I have not heard of,i think you called it step recording, does this entail the use of midi or something else?,anyway Rob if i can be of any assistance in some way just give a hoy!! Best wishes from a 1939!!! baby

Hi Rob, A belated welcome from another pensioner here in sunny Cyprus. Although I've been a performer for more years than I care to mention, like you, I'm still learning about this midi business. This is the site where, in my opinion, you'll find the friendliest and most knowledgeable musos and midi experts on the planet. Enjoy.

Hi Rob,
Extremely late in the day to say that, but welcome nonetheless!
They (whoever they are) classify me as the resident MIDI guru, though "specialist" would be my own term. If you have any questions just fire away.
Welcome again, JohnG.

Just popped in to say Welcome from me too, I'm over in Essex, so not too far from yourself, a fellow East Anglian . You're in the right place to make some friends, share music and learn from some very helpful members. I never even knew what step recording was till I saw your post lol. Is the Music just a hobby or do you go out any do any gigs? Have fun here on the forum Jacqui
