Hi guys 8-)just had a thought i know that a lot of us if not most of us have to `back singers`at somtime or another well here is the question Do you let them use your mic in the current climate or do you allow them to use your spare mic i only ask because a friend of mine [same name lol] was doing a local working man`s club where he has been calling singers over a few years but because of the `flu` threat he has stopped calling them Has anyone any thoughts or comments me personally i would just say NO unless they have their own audio equipment lol [it`s a good way out for anyone that can`t back singers lol lol] On a side topic anyone thinking of getting the injection think twice it opens the door to bronchitus i`m lucky i`m too sick for it anyway lol Just a few thoughts from weegeo xxx

Well I've been under the weather for the past 2weeks...with all the symptoms of the swine flu...I got the flu jab 4 weeks ago.......Caitriona and I spent last weekend in Dublin and to be honest I couldn't wait to get home again.....I've cancelled my bookings for this weekend.....but with having diabetes ( although it's controled by weight lose and healthy eating ) I just cannot take the risk..

I work for the NHS in Aberdeen and this time last year I decided reluctantly to take the Flu Jab for the first time and felt quite uneasy for a few weeks after, and have had flu symptoms twice this year already, the second time I was off work for a fortnight so you won't catch me taking another flu jab again. I think that if you are in reasonable health its best left to your own body's immune system to cope with flu.

Sorry to hear you're feeling "crook" Kev. Get well soon. It seems this flu is hitting different people in very different ways, some say it's just a bit worse than a cold, but it's laying other people very low. I've stocked up with Paracetamol and the Flu remedy drinks, usually containing 1000mg of Paracetamol. (Don't take both at the same time!) No Tamilflu for me, they say its side effects, for some, are worse than the flu itself! The key thing is to keep the temperature down, keep fluid levels up, hot honey with a slice of fresh lemon (Vit. C) for me, take to the bed and sweat it out. For MOST normally healthy people. Unless, of course, you have an underlying health problem, then see the doc. JG the strictly amateur doctor.

Well I was just getting into me nurses outfit to come and mop your brow, when I read John G's post and thought maybe he knows what he's talking about, he's such a wise man, so maybe you should stick with the Paracetamol after all Take care Jacqui

Sorry m8! Didn't realise there was Jacqui in a nurses outfit involved. In my case though nurses usually involve breaking out into a sweat and a raised temperature, rather then the opposite. Not to be bothered to be able to get up for footy means you really were in a bad shape. Next time I'll keep my gob shut! JG
